Words for Winter

Chapbook in Christmas Tree

Words for Winter, published in December 2025, invited contributors to send brief poems in holiday, wintry spirit. When weather and world keep us in solitude, how can small thoughts bring us together--meditating on the same things? Snow on different branches. Holiday lights. Christmas movies. Shared markers of the season that keep us indoors while yet enlarging us, as Thomas Campion knew:

"The summer hath his joys,
And winter his delights;
Though love and all his pleasures are but toys,
They shorten tedious nights."

Contributors: Jacey Anderson, Dan Beachy-Quick, Chloe Bliss Snyder, Shannon Castor, Martin Corless-Smith, Ben Friedlander, D Kopec, Lethe, Ellie Snyder, Elanor Spring, Keaton Studebaker, Charlotte Suttee, Adam Ray Wagner, Lena Walker, Matt Wood.
